Our orthodontic consultations are for new patients who are interested in traditional braces or Invisalign treatment.

Full mouth and jaw joint examination

Before treatment begins, we’ll carry out a comprehensive check of your mouth to check for signs of decay or gum disease. We will also examine your jaw and the way your teeth bite together, so we can assess the level of correction needed from your braces.

Digital Smile Design and video analysis

Taking digital photographs of your teeth means we can plan your treatment around how your smile looks in relation to your face. We also record a short video of you speaking, as our smiles often look different during natural speech.

Impressions and X-rays

We take simple impressions of your teeth to help us plan your orthodontic treatment. X-rays help us check for any problems that need to be treated before you start wearing braces.

Gum health & Oral cancer screenings

It’s important to make sure your gums are completely healthy before you begin orthodontic treatment. We will treat any outstanding problems before discussing your brace options with you.

You’ll also receive an oral cancer screening as standard during your initial consultation. This is conducted using our state of the art Velscope technology to check for changes in the mouth. Further information about our screening processes can be found here.
