Recruiting Great Team Members for Cherrybank Dental Spa
For the past 4 weeks I have been interviewing people to fill the vacant dental nursing positions I have within Cherrybank Dental Spa in Edinburgh. I was looking for dynamic, enthusiastic, passionate and intelligent individuals who wanted to further their career in dentistry as well as helping me and the rest of the team keep Cherrybank at the forefront of the dental world not only in Edinburgh but also in the UK. I must confess I was overwhelmed by the response and calibre of candidates. I don’t think I had one application that I did not want to interview.
I had some painstaking hours deliberating over whom I should shortlist for interview. I managed to narrow it down to ten applicants and interviewed them over a staggering 2 days!
Candidate after candidate interviewed well, had great strengths and I could see them fitting into the Cherrybank Team. However, there were 2 candidates who really went the extra mile:
- They had done their homework on the practice,
- Had exceptional communication skills,
- Answered my questions confidently,
- Kept eye contact with me at all times,
- To top it all I could feel their hunger for the job.
I asked them back to meet the team and to make sure that they could see how the practice worked and where they would fit in. This can be the make or break part for some candidates as it is no walk in the park working at Cherrybank but there are so many advantages. They both instantly gelled with everyone, asked lots of questions and just rolled their sleeves up and got on with it. I knew I had made the right choice.
The day after their visit I placed the call to the candidates to offer them the position. I think I was more excited than they were. I wanted them to start now. Thankfully they both accepted instantly and we are now just counting down the days to when both become fully fledged members of Cherrybank Dental Spa Edinburgh.
