First dentist in Scotland to achieve BACD accreditation

By Phil / December 20th, 2010

Recent breakthroughs in modern cosmetic dental care have helped make changing one’s smile easier than ever before. However, currently any qualified dentist can offer cosmetic dentistry and no UK qualification or specialist register is recognised in cosmetic dentistry. Finding an appropriately skilled cosmetic dentist is essential to ensure treatments are beautiful, natural looking, and successful in the long term.

BACD Accreditation is a rigorous two-stage process that illustrates to peers and patients alike that a technician or practitioner has achieved a level of excellence with regard to their cosmetic dental skills. Anyone attempting to obtain BACD Accreditation must demonstrate their ability to diagnose, plan and execute cosmetic treatment to the highest standards, and show that this can be performed safely, ethically and competently.

Dedicated to the practice of quality cosmetic dentistry, the BACD has had an Accreditation pathway in place since 2005.

Currently, there are only a handful of clinicians UK-wide who have managed to attain this prestigious award, making Dr Halley’s achievement all the more exceptional. – BACD
