Dr Halley's full Biography
Dawn Smith Cert.DPM - Business Manager
After leaving school in Germany in 1973, Dawn applied for a post as a Dental Nurse in Oxford and decided this was the profession she wanted to be a part of. She moved to Perth in 1976 and gained her qualification as a Dental Nurse whilst working in the Community Dental Department. She then got married and left the profession for a while in 1978 to have her children.
The family moved to Peterhead in Aberdeenshire and in 1983 went to work in the local dental practice. The practice had 5 dentists and an orthodontist. She then gained some skills and knowledge in orthodontics and when she moved to Perth in 1989 went to work in an orthodontic practice where she gained her qualification in Dental Practice Management in 1998.
She was fortunate to join the Cherrybank team in 2006 where she has been able to use her management skills to oversee all departments and be part of the successful growth of Cherrybank Dental Spa.

Jillian Melloy - Practice Manager, Perth
Jillian left school and started nursing in 1994. She joined Dr Halley and her team at Cherrybank Dental Spa in Perth as Senior Dental Nurse in 1998. This involved the very high standard of continual training and development of all dental nurses at Cherrybank.
Jillian attended the Aesthetic Advantage Group seminar in 2001 with Dr Halley in London, and has since travelled with Dr Halley to attend the advanced courses in New York and West Palm Beach. Jillian gained a wealth of knowledge about cosmetic dentistry and the new and exciting possibilities for dentists, their entire teams, and of course the patients.
The following year Jillian was invited to attend the Aesthetic Advantage seminar in London to assist with the smooth running of the clinic day. This let to the creation of a seminar specific to the clinical nurses, which allows them to be prepared for the new skills which the dentists recently gain.
Jillian is one of the first nurses in the UK to develop the role of Treatment Coordinator and has lectured at the first British Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry Annual Conference in London.
Gail Dow Cert.DPM- Practice Manager, Edinburgh
In 1988 I qualified as a dental nurse and worked for 10 years in the same practice, wearing several different hats from being oral health educator to finally running the business for the practice owner.
In 1996 I enrolled in one of the first practice management certificated courses in the UK and 1998 qualified with distinction. In 1997 I was successful in securing the position as practice manager for Cherrybank Dental Spa that was one of the first private dental practices in the Perth Area. We established the reputation of being one of the best cosmetic and customer service focused practices in Scotland, winning numerous awards for outstanding customer service. I attended many courses here in the UK and the USA. This was where I met Jameson Management Inc. a business management coaching company based in Oklahoma. I was invited to join and train as one of their elite dental business coaches and in 2004 we opened the UK division of Jameson Management. I held the position of Director of Operations. I travelled the length and breadth of the UK and US coaching highly successful private cosmetic dental practices how to go from good to great by teaching the skills that helped make Cherrybank Dental Spa the success that it is today. I was very privileged to be asked on several occasions to be a speaker at the Word Aesthetic Congress and Women in Dentistry conferences. I have written several articles published on creating the ultimate dental spa and delivering the wow factor in dentistry.
In 2007 I decided on a career change and I joined a private dental practice in Perthshire which was owned by one of the major corporate dental groups within the UK as a practice manager of their multi-site practice. I thoroughly enjoyed working within the corporate body and eventually took over as business manager where I was responsible for looking after all the Scottish Practices. I gained some invaluable experience and knowledge in this role and when I was offered the position of Regional Practice Manager trainer for Scotland and the North East I was thrilled.
Due to Cherrybank Dental Spa opening another practice in Scotland I was honoured to be offered the post as Practice Manager in their exclusive Edinburgh Spa. I hope I can continue the fantastic work the team have put in place and become an asset to this business by sharing all the knowledge I have gained while being away from Cherrybank for the last 5 years.
