Dr Ian Ollerhead
BDS MFGDP(UK) DipRestDent RCS (Eng)
Dr Ian Ollerhead graduated from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne before embarking upon a two year period of General Professional Training at the Edinburgh Dental Institute. During this period he gained valuable experience in both hospital and practice environments, as well as becoming familiar with the Community Dental Service. He then spent three years working in general practice before joining the team at Cherrybank.
Dr Ollerhead strives to bring the very latest and best in dentistry to Edinburgh and he brings a caring, dedicated and enthusiastic approach to every patient. He has a special interest in advanced cosmetic and restorative dentistry and enjoys the challenge of creating beautiful smiles with both natural form and lasting function. He also knows people can be very nervous about visiting the dentist, and believes passionately in making this a thing of the past.
He has a strong commitment to continued professional development and in 2008 was awarded the MFGDP(UK) qualification from the Royal College of Surgeons of England. His keen interest in restorative dentistry has influenced his choice of further post-graduate training and in March 2009 he embarked upon a masters degree in Restorative Dentistry ran by the Royal College of Surgeons and the University of Leeds.
Dr Ollerhead has also travelled extensively to undertake further training in cosmetic dentistry and facial aesthetics. As such he now offers invisible braces and wrinkle reducing treatments to his patients. He believes his enhanced skills are already having a very positive impact on his patients and is particularly pleased when he can exceed their expectations.
Ian lives in Edinburgh, and enjoys sport, travelling and spending time with his friends and family.
