Replacing Missing Teeth
We offer three options in tooth replacement, depending on how many teeth are missing and the needs of the individual patient.
Bridges replace a missing tooth by means of crowns that slip over the teeth adjacent to the gap left by the missing tooth. The new tooth is then held in place between the crowns. Bridges may also be anchored to dental implants.
Dental Implants are a sturdier and longer-lasting alternative for people who are missing multiple teeth and who have sufficient bone density to support them. Dental implants are surgically embedded in the jawbone. Once the post is in place, bone, and gum tissue heals around it, making it a durable substitute for the natural tooth root. After the posts have healed appropriately, tooth restorations such as porcelain crowns, bridges, or dentures may be mounted to them.
Dentures are a popular option when all or most teeth are missing. The key to making dentures work is achieving the perfect fit. Dr. Halley and her team's experience can help ensure that the most comfortable and secure denture fit is achieved. Like bridges, dentures may also be attached to dental implants.
