Gum Disease Quiz?

How to know you are at risk from gum disease (the silent disease) :

If your gums bleed regularly when brushing or flossing.

If any of your parents have lost some or all of their teeth, particularly if this was at an early age.

If you have a bad taste in your mouth or have been told you have bad breath (halitosis).

If you have any teeth which have moved or feel slightly loose.

If you have spaces between your teeth which you didn’t use to have.

If you have ever been told by a hygienist or dentist that you have ‘pockets’ around your teeth.

If you can feel a build-up of tartar behind your lower front teeth.

If you have lost any teeth due to gum problems rather than tooth decay.

If you have any areas of redness around the edges of your gums. Healthy gums should be pale pink.

If you smoke or have a history of smoking. Smoking hides many of the other factors which would otherwise alert you to a problem.
